SONCAP and PVoC in 2026: document checklist for African imports

Destination certificates decide whether your container clears or demurrage starts ticking. The exact document set we prepare for Nigerian and Kenyan consignments.
Why the documents decide the delivery date
Most African imports are gated not by freight but by conformity documents. The container sits at the port, demurrage ticks, and the only thing missing is a certificate that should have been prepared before the unit was sealed. Getting the document set right upfront is the cheapest insurance in the whole project. The project references show how the same document pack cleared at different borders.
SONCAP and PVoC, by destination
Nigeria runs SONCAP. You need a Product Certificate (PC) per model and a SONCAP Certificate (SC) per shipment, backed by test reports and an ISO 9001 certificate from the factory. Kenya, Tanzania and most of the EAC run PVoC (Pre-Export Verification of Conformity) with a Certificate of Conformity per shipment.
Booking the inspection in 2026
For 2026, budget for the inspection lead time: book the PVoC or SONCAP appointment before you confirm the vessel, not after. Keep the rated output, voltage and frequency on the nameplate exactly matching the PC, or the certificate will not clear at the border.
We prepare the full document pack (PC, SC or CoC, test reports and factory certificates) before the container is sealed, and we flag the inspection window in the production schedule so the booking never collides with the ship. Send your destination when you request a quotation and we will return the exact checklist.
